Triangle Pre-School was honoured to be chosen as one of the charities for the opening evening of the Winchester Santa Sleigh, and we loved every moment of being part of such a special Winchester tradition.
The first evening saw the Santa Sleigh visit Kings Barton, one of Winchester’s newest residential estates, marking the start of Santa’s journey through local neighbourhoods. Being selected for the opening night was a real privilege and a wonderful opportunity to meet families in a growing part of the city and introduce Triangle Pre-School to new members of the Winchester community.
From the moment the sleigh set off, the atmosphere was full of excitement. Families gathered along the route, children eagerly waited for Santa to arrive, and there was a real sense of togetherness as we helped let everyone know Santa was on his way. We had a fabulous time collecting donations, chatting with families and sharing in the joy of the evening.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Kings Barton who stopped to greet us, donated so generously and helped make the first night such a success. The warmth and support shown meant a great deal to Triangle Pre-School and helps us continue providing a caring, nurturing environment for children and families in Winchester.

A true community effort across Winchester
The Winchester Santa Sleigh is organised by volunteers from the Winchester Round Table, with all funds raised supporting local charities and good causes. Throughout December, the sleigh visits neighbourhoods across Winchester including Kings Barton, Weeke, Harestock, Winnall, St Cross, Badger Farm, Stanmore and beyond.
Alongside Triangle Pre-School, a wide range of Winchester-based organisations and community groups are involved across different evenings, including schools, preschools, PTAs, scouts, guides, youth organisations and local charities. This shared effort highlights the strength of Winchester’s community spirit and the importance of supporting local causes close to home.
