Health and Safety General Standards Policy<\/strong>: This setting believes the health and safety of children is of paramount importance. We make our setting a safe and healthy place for children, parents, staff and volunteers by assessing and minimising the hazards and risks to enable children to thrive in a healthy and safe environment. Review due June 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Achieving Positive Behaviour Policy<\/strong>: Triangle Pre-School believes that children flourish best when their personal, social and emotional needs are met and where there are clear and developmental expectations for their behaviour. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Physical Intervention<\/strong>: This policy should be read in conjunction with our Achieving Positive Behaviour Policy. All staff within the setting will help children take responsibility for their own behaviour. This can be done through a combination of approaches. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Critical Incident Policy<\/strong>: Triangle Pre-School recognises the need to have a critical incident plan, which would be implemented in the event of a \u2018serious disruption arising without warning on a scale beyond the coping capacity of the pre-school\u2019. Review due June 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Fire Drill Procedure<\/strong>: In the event of a fire, this procedure will be carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation Policy<\/strong>: We ensure our premises present no risk of fire by ensuring the highest possible standard of fire evacuations. Review due June 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Missing Child Policy<\/strong>: Children\u2019s safety is our highest priority both on and off the premises. Every attempt is made through carrying out the entrance\/exit procedure and outings procedures to ensure the security of children is maintained at all times. In the unlikely event of a child going missing our missing child procedure is followed. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Selecting Equipment and Toys Policy<\/strong>: The toys and equipment in our pre-school provide opportunities for children with adult help to develop new skills in their play and exploration. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Supporting children with Special Educational Needs<\/strong>: We provide an environment in which all children with special educational needs (SEN) are supported to reach their full potential. Review due April 202<\/span>6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Administering of Medicines Policy<\/strong>: It is not our policy to look after sick children who should be at home until they are well enough to return to the setting but we will administer medication as part of maintaining a child\u2019s health or well being or when they are recovering from an illness. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Control of Substances Hazardous to Health<\/strong>: In line with our other Risk Assessment and Health and Safety measures we take steps to implement the current guidelines regarding COSHH regulations. Verbal consent is fine for events where the parents are present. Review due April 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n First Aid Policy<\/strong>: In our setting staff are able to take action to apply first aid treatment in the event of an accident involving a child or an adult. All our staff have a current Paediatric First Aid qualification. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Food and Drink Policy<\/strong>: This setting regards snack and meal times as an important part of the day. Eating represents a social time for children and helps children learn about healthy eating. At snack time we aim to provide nutritious food which meets the children\u2019s individual dietary needs. We aim to encourage parents to make sure their child\u2019s lunch box contains a healthy and nutritious meal. Review due October 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Managing Children with Allergies or who are Sick or Infectious<\/strong>: We provide care for healthy children and promote health by identifying allergies and preventing contact with the allergic substance and through preventing cross infection of viruses and bacterial infections. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Nappy Changing Policy<\/strong>: No child is excluded from our setting who may, for any reason, not yet be toilet trained and who may still be wearing nappies or equivalent. We work with parents towards toilet training, unless there are medical or other developmental reasons why this may not be appropriate at the time. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n No-smoking policy<\/strong>: We comply with health and safety regulations and the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the EYFS in making our setting a non-smoking environment both indoors and outdoors. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Risk assessment \u2013 Shared Premises<\/strong>: Triangle Preschool recognises that it does not rent the entirety of the premises for the times it is open and is operating within a shared premises. This policy outlines our risk assessment of the situation and steps we take to ensure the safety of our children. Review due April 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Safeguarding Children & Child Protection Policy<\/strong>: Our setting will work with children, parents and the community to ensure the rights and safety of children and to give them the very best start in life. We will ensure that our supervision is effective, providing support, coaching and training for the practitioner and promoting the best interests of children. This will foster a culture which promotes mutual support, teamwork, and continuous improvement, which will encourage the confidential discussion of sensitive issues whilst acknowledging our confidentiality policy.
